Privacy policy

This document describes exactly what data Contexto y Código collects, what it is used for, and how to have it deleted. It is written to be understood, not to cover anyone.

If you only read, nothing is collected

Reading the articles requires no account and creates no record tied to you. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no profiling. The site is static files served from a content delivery network.

If you sign in

Commenting or marking an article as liked requires signing in with Google or GitHub. No password is created: authentication is handled by the provider you choose, and this site never sees your credentials.

From the provider, only the following is stored:

• Your public name, to sign your comments.
• Your profile picture, for the same reason.
• Your email address, which is shown to nobody and is never used to send you anything. It exists to identify your account.

And from what you do on the site:

• The text of your comments and which article you left them on.
• Which articles you marked as liked.

Nothing else. Your IP address, your browser and the pages you visit are not recorded.

Who sees your data

Your comments and your public name are visible to anyone who visits the site: that is what a comment is for. Your email is not.

The data is stored in Supabase, acting as the infrastructure provider. It is not sold, not shared with third parties and not used for advertising.

Deleting your data

You can delete any comment of yours from the article itself, with the "Delete" button that appears next to it while you are signed in. Removing a like is pressing the button again.

If you want your account removed entirely, write to me through any of the links in the footer and I will delete it along with all your comments.

Moderation

As the person responsible for the site I can delete comments. I do it for spam, abuse and illegal content. I do not edit other people's comments: they either stay as they are, or they are deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes, meaningful changes are announced on the site itself.
